The Sea of Moscow was first marked on the Moon’s map in 1960. It is on the side of the Moon that we cannot see from Earth.
This name is different from other lunar seas, which are usually named after feelings (like the Sea of Tranquility or the Sea of Serenity) or things connected to water (like the Sea of Humidity or the Sea of Waves).
However, the French astronomer Odouen Dolphyus said that "Moscow is also a kind of feeling."
